We are pleased to offer the following services at Heartland Veterinary Care:
Our appointment book is computerized, which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call immediately so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency prior to your arrival.
Heartland Veterinary Care offers general veterinary medicine and surgery for your feline and canine companions throughout their life. We emphasize preventative care and proper nutrition to maximize their health and longevity. We have a complete diagnostic laboratory including in house blood machines. This means convenient same day preanesthetic panels and no unnecessary wait for blood work results during a crisis. As well as laboratory testing, we offer x-rays as another tool to reach a diagnosis.
If surgery is needed on a routine or an emergency basis we are equipped with a surgical CO2 laser to make the process easier for the patient. The surgical laser acts as an alternative to the scalpel. The laser cauterizes as it cuts to decrease pain and bleeding during the procedure.
Dental disease is a common finding among small animals. We offer dental cleanings as a prophylaxis and to treat ongoing dental issues.
We also have a full line of prescription diets to provide specific nutritional support if necessary.
We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty five days a week during business hours to handle any urgent care need your pet has. Emergencies can be things such as accidental ingestion of rat poison, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call or come in immediately. After hours emergency care needs are met through cooperation from another area clinic and use of the animal emergency centers available. You will be given instructions on how to proceed by the skilled answering service.
We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening. If you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment, our veterinarians will work to "squeeze" you in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.
